“Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic.
Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime.
Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.”
- John Lewis, U.S. Representative and Civil Rights Icon, June 2018

Racial and Gender Equity Advocate
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Consultant
We rarely have opportunities to talk with each other about our interests and similarities and the challenges we face in our daily lives. When paired with policies and practices supported throughout the organization, such opportunities can build empathy and compassion and create a better working environment.
I offer an overview of DEI topics to meet your organization's needs, including small group discussions to learn more about each other. In gender equity workshops, I utilize Lean In’s evidence-based programs used by thousands of organizations worldwide to improve the workplace for women.
As someone whose work has long centered around racial and gender equity, I would love to work with you to create an environment where each person – individually and collectively – can thrive.
Do you want a more inclusive and welcoming environment in your organization?
Would your group benefit from an external facilitator
to bring folks together for genuine and meaningful discussions?
Are you looking for guidance to improve your policies and practices?
Let's discuss how I can support your efforts for equity!
“Talented individuals deeply value and prioritize managers who create inclusive workplaces.”
- Ruchika Tulshyan, Inclusion on Purpose: An Intersectional Approach to Creating a Culture of Belonging at Work (2022).
Employees of all levels and backgrounds benefit from a workplace where equity is centered, and recent studies show that many employees want more inclusive workplaces. In order to keep talented workers, companies also benefit from creating more equitable workplaces.
“A Deloitte study found that 80 percent of millennial employees say that inclusion is important in choosing a new employer. The same study found that for many millennials, a company-wide corporate diversity and inclusion program was less important than inclusive behaviors demonstrated by their peers and leaders.”
- Ruchika Tulshyan, Inclusion on Purpose: An Intersectional Approach to Creating a Culture of Belonging at Work (2022)
“Years of data show that women experience microaggressions at a significantly higher rate than men: they are twice as likely to be interrupted and hear comments on their emotional state. For women with traditionally marginalized identities, these slights happen more often and are more demeaning. As a result, the workplace is a mental minefield for many women. By leaving microaggressions unchecked, companies miss out on everything women have to offer and risk losing talented employees.”

Creating more equitable workplaces isn’t hard, but it does take intention—intention guided by a deep and nuanced understanding of equity. Together, we can tailor policies and/or programs for your organization that promote better awareness, knowledge, and, ultimately, a sense of belonging for each person. By creating an inclusive workplace, you're also creating a more engaged and productive workforce. Sounds like a win-win to me!
As an advocate for gender and racial equity with over 20 years of experience in higher education and nonprofits, I am passionate about creating a more inclusive world. I’d love to support your organization’s efforts to create an environment where each person – individually and collectively – can thrive.
